The Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing

Activity

On September 7, 2023, the Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing held the Advanced Science Seminar on "Developing a Future Society with Genome Editing".

NOMURA Wataru, Professor of the Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, gave a lecture titled "Off-target effects in genome editing and strategies to overcome them".
Over 90 people attended the seminar, and the event was hugely successful. Some of the positive feedback we received included:
"I believe that social acceptance of new technologies is enhanced by actively sharing research results with the public."
"It covered the basics and was very easy to understand."

The Advanced Science Seminar Series "Developing a Future Society with Genome Editing" will be held to widely inform the community about the Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing and genome editing technology. The series is planned to comprise three seminars. Details regarding subsequent seminars will be provided on the website of the Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing and through other media. We look forward to having several people attend the seminars.
