The Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing

Activity

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, the Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing, Hiroshima University held an online international seminar on "Front-line of Genome Editing Technology" and invited Professor Charles Gersbach, Ph.D., from Duke University, to attend. More than 70 participants attended the seminar.

The seminar aimed to accelerate genome editing research, one of Hiroshima University's strengths, as well as related research in Japan. Dr. Gersbach gave a lecture entitled "Decoding and Programming the Genome with Epigenome Editing Technologies", on the potential of modern genome engineering technologies to capitalize on the products of the genomic revolution and transform medicine, science, and biotechnology.
Following Dr. Gersbach's lecture, five students from the Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing presented their research.
