The Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing

On December 17, 2025, the 5th Social Meeting was held, featuring Prof. NISHIDA Keiji from Engineering Biology Research Center, Kobe University.
Prof. Nishida, a role model in the program and an industrial developer of genome editing technologies, gave an engaging lecture highlighting his work, including the development of "Target-AID," a genome editing technology that edits DNA bases without cleavage, as well as other cutting-edge research in synthetic biology. He also shared his research journey, career development, and experience in founding a startup, providing valuable insights into translating research into real-world applications.
The lecture provided students and faculty with an inspiring and informative experience, helping them consider future career and research directions.

*The Frontier Development Program for Genome Editing has been organizing several social gatherings for students enrolled in the program with the intention of providing the students, faculty, individuals from participating companies, and the like with opportunities to meet and mingle, share information related to the program, broaden the participants' knowledge and horizons, motivate students, and to help participants build their network.
